Lebanon has long been known for the high quality of its educational system, and for producing an exceptionally hard-working population, across a variety of disciplines.

In fact, in 2013, the World Economic Forum ranked Lebanon the 4th best country for math and science education, and 10th for the best overall quality of education.

Currently, however, enrollment in Lebanese educational institutions has dropped form 60% in 2020-2021, to 43% in 2022.

And 41% of young people currently believe their only option is to leave Lebanon in order to build a future for themselves, and their families.

Without assistance from the diaspora, and funds like Jeel, this rapid decline risks creating an irreversible brain-drain for Lebanon’s foreseeable future.

Without new solutions, Lebanon’s educational institutions and standards of education are at risk of a decline that could last for generations. This decline affects not only the future prospects of Lebanon’s youth, but also Lebanon’s future as a country vying for its place in a global economy.

Impact Lebanon Charity has created the Jeel education fund to address this issue, and to build a path towards a brighter future for Lebanon’s students.
