Jeel’s research, through Impact Lebanon Charity, shows that the most impact will come from supporting deserving students, and championing Lebanon’s strong, local institutions.
Jeel will therefore begin by funding undergraduate students at select Lebanese universities, across faculties. In the future, we aim to expand our scope to other student groups, and to additional institutions.

Our Candidate Selection Process:
Jeel will select candidates according to a range of criteria, and a clear scoring system outlined below. We aim to reward the most deserving candidates in partnership with each university.
In the longer term, we may occasionally choose to collaborate with other education-focused NGOs in order to combine efforts, and drive greater impact.
(Please note that we do not accept direct applications from students, and all applicants come via our partner universities listed above.)
Jeel’s Scholarship Criteria:
-
All applicants’ grades should be within the top 35% of their cohort. We will consider school results from the last 2-3 years of studies, and university grades, when applicable.
-
All applicants should have a demonstrable need for financial support. We will consider household income and financial obligations, as well as a deficit in disposable income should the household have to pay university tuition fees, and related costs.
-
All applicants should have at least two relevant experiences with civic engagement and leadership. Jeel will consider experiences in volunteering, internships, summer jobs, and engagement in scout programs, or other similar civic activities.
-
All applicants will attend up to 3 interviews with Jeel. These interviews will focus on the candidate’s values, and how closely they align with Jeel’s objectives of helping develop an active, educated, and more inclusive Lebanese society.
